Sam's Club In-Store YMMV B&M: Member's Mark Tri-Ply Clad 14-Pc. Cookware Set $99.81

Several Sam's Club warehouse locations have Member's Mark by Tramontina 14-piece tri-ply clad cookware. Similar set from Walmart [walmart.com] is $350, Sam's Club set has a slightly different handle and pasta insert is for the 3 quart saucepan instead of the stockpot (Walmart). These are fully clad up the sides, not the ones with just a tri-ply base. Tramontina tri-ply clad pans perform about on par with the cheaper All-Clad D3. Made in Brazil, many are assembled in Houston and some even have parts made in Wisconsin.

Normal price is $200, I usually see this set for around $150 if there is a sale like Black Friday. Costco's Kirkland Signature 14-piece tri-ply clad is usually $150-200 and I think is also manufactured by Tramontina (they used to have a tri-ply base set that was made by Meyer a long time ago).

Check online to see if it is $99.81 in your nearest warehouse. the $0.81 price means it's on clearance.

Says online only. So how do you check in-warehouse prices from the website? Thanks!

You need to be signed into your membership and set a club as "your club." There is an option for club pickup that will show you the in-store price.

I stopped in to my local Sam's Club here in Corona California and they have them for the clearance price. They have seven left on the shelves.

Comparing them to the ones on display right next to them, the Emeril Lagasse 15 Piece Cookware Set, the Member's Mark are much thicker and heavy duty. Picking up a set, even if I don't use all the pieces I think this is a pretty good deal.

They have a comparable set on display right next to this set from the same manufacturer that has the non-stick coating. The one with the nonstick is selling for $150. I don't cook a lot, are there any pitfalls to owning a stainless steel set without the non-stick coating? I do like that these ones are oven safe, the other box doesn't say that.

the non stick coating requires special handling & eventually chips off and goes into your food (and its toxic). i'd stick with the stainless...

Replying to my own thread, but I just tested these out for the first time, and I can say that this is a quality set. I used the 5 quart saute pan to saute some vegetables and it was great despite my tiny apartment electric burner. Nonstick 5 quart saute pans and 12" fry pans are normally useless for me because of how small my burners are, but the tri-ply cladding on the big saute pan gets so hot that if you touch the top sides then you can burn yourself. Heat retention was great and gave me a great sear on some pork (not quite as good as cast iron, but very good). They might not be up to All-Clad standards but at $100 for a 14-piece tri-ply FULLY CLAD set this is an amazing cookware deal that you'll likely never need to upgrade or replace.

Still $200 at my club. Are Sam's clearance item prices nationwide, but just on a different schedule based on store/region or completely random?

From what i've seen they don't do that. My store had 2016 tv's at full price through 2017 even while online had them for less. Sales never reached my store and they disappeared from the shelves eventually.

If I place an order for store pick up but choose not to pay online and select option to pay at the store, would my order still be confirmed and ready for me to pick up this weekend? Or they cancel orders that are not yet paid for, in case of huge demand?

Anybody used these and cuisinart multi clad pro set? How would you compare quality and performance? I have the cuisinart one and quite happy. I was looking to add more saute pans to my collection as we cook multiple vegetable dishes regularly. This would be a whole new set for the price of 3 saute pans / skillets.

Nonstick is really useful but it doesn't tend to last forever like a stainless set might. The general rule to make nonstick last longer is to not use metal tools. A $150 nonstick set should last at least a few years if not longer as long as you follow that rule.

I would also avoid very high heat and oven cooking with a nonstick set. That is one place where stainless shines. Personally, I use cast iron for my oven dishes but to each their own.
