These saws can be somewhat useful, you just have to remember they are essentially jig saws mounted upside down. This won't replace a table saw, I won't even think about ripping anything moderately thick and resawing would be absolutely out of the question.

But for the average homeowner who doesn't want a big shop? Yeah I can see this being potentially useful.

I bought one barely used on Craigslist for $30. I'll eventually find some use for it but I already have a jigsaw and a table saw and a miter saw. I'd rather have a scroll saw than this thing.
