Gpus and memory unfortunately nowhere at this time.

For gpus, check now in stock until you find something at msrp somewhere, it might take days but you will
Find one.

Memory just wait or buy the minimum you need

And in case It was not clear Newegg and any marketplace type site take a cut on every transaction. So if one buy a gpu at $1200 that worths $600,they take a big cut of that.

I sold all my gpus on fleabay and will sit tight with the cash invested (not in bitcoin Wink)

Any idea when prices will come down to a decent level? I've waiting a year now for the right moment to build my next desktop.

You missed the boat if you've been waiting a year.
A better time was 3-4 months ago when gpu's were available and you could sparsely find 16gb of a decent speed RAM for $120 (non rgb, decent name brand and at least 2800mhz.

If you need a PC (I don't think you do since you've been waiting a year) then i'd continue to wait.
I don't know that there is going to be an instance when all prices come down, and i'm not going to preach that the market will equalize. With so few players in the game, and them knowing that certain sectors will demand X amount of product, its in their best interest to inflate prices. If the prices stay inflated for long enough it will feel like the new norm, just like with SSD. Everyone thinks they are going to drop in price, but year after year we just on the same "deals" that are the same price or more expensive the following year.

I suspect you're right. I seriously considered getting some RAM a few months back when all the deals were happening, but wasn't sure what I wanted do for the CPU. There was so much going on with Ryzen, Coffee Lake, etc, etc. In the end, it was confusion and indecision that killed my aspirations.

So happy I got in for DDR4 2400 8gb Ballistix for $60 back in the Fall when eBay ran a $15 of $75 promo. I'm not sure they have ran that since, but that is something to keep your eyes on for RAM purchases.

If you must get memory: try locally *cough* CG.

Ram is tested to be a component that is dependable for a long time no matter how used, and is safe to buy used.

Just a tip.

We can blame it on all the people that are building mining rigs. Thanks guys!
