This could be used for spices? But I think I'd rather use my mortar and pestle

This is a good, inexpensive grinder. Very quiet also. It's sold under different brands slapped on it. I got mine for free from Javapresse.

We've had one for a year or so.
Its a great little machine.

But it does take some effort.
And it does take maybe 2 minutes for a good grind.
We are both older and don't use it very often.

It's free when you try their coffee membership. You can choose something else if you don't want the grinder. Basically, I bought a 12 oz bag of fresh coffee beans roasted and delivered 2-3 days later via priority shipping; and I got a free grinder, which they sell for like $20. You can cancel membership at any time.

You can make it go faster by using an electric screwdriver and attaching to nut on top.

I have pretty much the same grinder with a different logo stamped on it. Be aware, it takes around 100 cranks to grind enough for one cup in an Aeropress.

i just got one of these and i've only used it twice. i like it well enough, but i might still get something electric after a while.

i have read that these ceramic conical burr grinders shouldn't really be used for spices, at least not if they are any harder than fresh coffee beans. the ceramic can break pretty easily with harder, dried spices.

Grabbed one for home - I had one of these as a daily grinder for my desk at work and the plastic eventually busted apart. I've got a Hario doing its duty now but I figure this would be nice to have at home if I'm making some coffee for guests.

Still works for me. I do have the original Japanese version of this, though.
