HSBC is offering a $750 welcome deposit if you open an HSBC Premier checking and complete qualifying activities:
  1. Open new HSBC Premier checking account by March 30, 2018
  2. Deposit a minimum Qualifying Balance of $100,00 or more in New Money with 30 days of account opening
  3. Maintain at least the minimum Qualifying Balance for 90 calendar days from date of deposit
The $350 welcome bonus only requres a mere $10,000 deposit.

I spent my extra $100,000 over the holidays, but the rest of you probably have this lying around.

I highly recommend not participating in this. I did this last year and it was absolutely the most frustrating banking experience ever. Check Doctor of Credit for similar comments from hundreds of people.

TU, house just closed, and it's sitting in an account only earning 1%, that is equal to about 3% return in those 90 days which is risk free. Or I could go the bitcoin option.... and roll the dice!

anything you recommend?

I did the Discover last year, still has a 1.4 rate for a savings which is cool, but the bonuses are where they deals are at.

A lot of them are regional, so it would depend on where you live. I would recommend skimming this list: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/be...t-bonuses/

It will likely take you closer to 6-9 months to get the bonus. There are plenty of savings accounts earning 1.5% and 12 month CDs earning 2%. You would be better off going that route.

HSBC will take a couple months to review and approve your account. Then you have to wait 3 billing cycles, which is >90 days. Then once you pass that threshold, you have to hope the bonus actually posts within another 6 weeks. If it doesn't then you can expect to spend another 2-4 months sending secure messages and emailing their executive leadership team.

Totally. Absolutely terrible from start to end. Here's a good summary of some experiences from other folks:

Wow what a "generous" offer. If I had $100k, I'd day-trade and make way more than $350 in a single day
