What do the sensors do if you only have two zones controlled by two different ecobees? It's not like it can heat/cool one room without negatively impacting the other?

You can run different scenarios where if one or two rooms are off either up or down it will run longer to compensate. Also since it logs the temps and humidity it is really handy for pin pointing problem areas in your envelope.

make sure you check with local utilities programs as you may get further discounts.
also if you have a 2 wire system you can purchase a fast-stat common maker to run this thermostat

Do just the sensors ever go on sale? I really would like to get extra sensors.

Ditto... I feel like they did right after the three came out, but haven't seen them on sale now for years.

Installed the Costco bought ecobee 3 with the 3 sensors last night. I like that the ecobee sensors can also be used as motion sensors for my smartthings setup for my faux security system. Not sure if they will end up working properly long term.

I like that too, added bonus with ST. although one of my 3 ecobee sensors constantly disconnects, and it is right above the thermostat about 10 feet up, in the room above.

For price reference the ecobee 4 at Lowe's over Xmas was 199 minus generated code brought it to 160$, so this deal is not so hot. I know we
Don't have a time machine, but again for perspective

Is there a fix to the motion sensor refresh rate? I read a ton of threads such as this (https://community.smartthings.com...nsor/50287) that state the refresh rate is terrible. Sometimes it's 20+ minutes for them to refresh to indicate there was motion. This slow response time would make it very difficult to automate tasks based on motion detected from the Ecobee sensors. If this has been changed, I'll be ordering from Costco today!

I couldn't tell you based in my short term experience. But if it is 20 minutes then you would be correct. Even the 3 and 4 minute refresh rates of some sensors is not acceptable
