This is just the beginning. No need to buy at this price unless you need it right now. They're going to come down more once the new models hit the shelves.

Nothing specific to XPS. These coupons are for all PCs as well

In terms of the xps, dell's quality product, price are relatively lowered from the past sales. As someone mentioned, it will go even lower than this.

Can you upgrade the SSD/ram in either the XPS 13 or 15?

Yeah. it doesn't even look like you can change configuration to upgrade the RAM to 16GB. I saw the XPS 13 2 in 1 and it's a nice price after using a coupon. but you can't even upgrade RAM. just processor. Battery life sucks on the 2 in 1 though. i think i'll wait out on an XPS 13 2018 model.

I believe you can always swap the the SSD, however the ram is soldered.

Both the PCI-E SSD and the RAM can be swapped in the XPS 15. The RAM is not soldered.

that too spending this much on dell is not good. Their laptops doesn't long last. Even a mobile can last long. At this price thinkpad would be best option.

Bit on the 9560 with 1050 last week for about $700. Would have loved to wait longer for a steeper discount but my primary business laptop died and I couldn't hold out any longer.

So far, I'm very happy with it. SSD and RAM are both easily replaced. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the computer; whether it's worth it at this price vs waiting for a steeper discount is up to you.
