How knife sharpening kit works:

StageⅠ- Preparation (High grade Diamond rods). This 'roughens' the knife edge to prepare the surface for sharpening. It also smooths any nicks and imperfections that could cause the blade to 'catch' during the sharpening stage (a common problem with 1 and 2 stage pull through sharpeners which can cause damage to blades).

StageⅡ - Sharpen (Hardened Tungsten Carbide Plates) - Now pull the blade through slot 2's precision angled tungsten carbide plates to
create the perfect sharpened 'V' edge on even the bluntest knife.

StageⅢ- Hone (Ceramic Stone Rods) - For final edge honing. It removes any burs and gently polishes the blade edges for a super sharp finish.

Mind saying why it sucks? The one I got has been working fine for almost a year now.

In what way? All reviews on Amazon disagree with you.

Do they suck for 15 dollars or do they suck for 1.99? For 1.99 I'm not expecting much lol.

I thought the same thing upon noticing the unusual quantity of 5-star reviews (105 reviews with a 5-star average?Confused). Seems suspicious to me. So I checked Fakespot which gives this an "F". Not that I give full credence to Fakespot, but it does warn of the reviews: "Tread lightly, this product may contain a major number of unreliable or low quality reviews!" However, for 2 bucks you don't have much to loose I guess...

I'm not saying the Amazon reviews are valid or fake. I'm asking the person who commented that this is not a good product to elaborate

these things will chew up your knives and require you to get new knives.. my suggestion for the home (i understand its more dollars) is to have a guy come out and sharpen your knives for 4-5 dollars a blade (in the kitchen you should really only have 3-4 knives anyway), or you can teach yourself using the ken onion sharpener that comes on sale here. do not buy these.
