New Egg claims I didn’t send my rebate form in on time, but I absolutely did.

I am so annoyed! I sent in my rebate form with plenty of extra time- the deadline was 12/17/17 and I mailed it in November! They emailed me today and said they didn't receive it until 1/22/18.
New Egg scammed me into buying overpriced batteries with the promise of a rebate, and I have no way to prove I sent my forms on time. Seriously, what do we need to do? Go to the post office and mail it with tracking? That seems excessive and kind of negates the benefit of a rebate imo.
I will never do business with them again.

Has anyone else had this problem with New Egg?

They (4MR) seems to have had alot of mailing issues in the months Nov and Dec. I have several not received and had to resend as well. Contact NE and BBB to complaint.

Usually two weeks, but holidays can take three to five weeks for the scans to show up. Five weeks is fine as long as the USPS timestamp shows you send it within the time limit. So make sure to send the first mail right away, and resend close to the rebate allowed time limit if it still hasn't show up in their system.

Under 'Check rebate status', you can 'View original documentation'. This should include a scan of your envelope with the postmark date.

I've been doing rebates for years, including lots of TigerDirect & Newegg rebates, but even as a seasoned rebater I am getting extremely frustrated with 4myrebates this year and have decided to avoid rebate deals since. They usually take 2-3 weeks to scan the rebate in, but it seems to be taking 5-6 weeks or so lately. Not a problem I thought, because in the past they have eventually scanned them in and approved. This year, they are sending me piles of "declined"

First chunk of rebates they claimed I sent after allowed timeframe. I looked at the scans and either the postmark is smeared or it's such a bad scan that it's unreadable (possibly legible in person). Because I sent the rebates ASAP, and it takes them a few weeks to get scanned in, they showed as received the day after the last postmark date. I tried explaining that it's impossible I sent it after the postmark date, because that would mean the First Class letter magically arrived to them in less than 1 day (since it scanned in at 2am that night). After a couple weeks, I got a response by email that they would approve one of the rebates.

Second chunk of rebates, somehow magically arrived there with NO postmark, NO stamp cancellation. I suppose that is the post office's fault, but it puts me in a bad position. After some time, they were magically approved on their own. Whew. It seems there is no rhyme or reason to which ones they approve or deny.

Third chunk of rebates, I had sent in Dec. It had been a month, but I knew they were behind, so I kept waiting patiently & ignored the reminder emails. Then when I saw the ones I sent in Jan were scanned in 10 days later, I panicked. I've sent them emails about the missing Dec rebates but haven't received a response yet. That Dec batch amount to a lot of $$, so I am really pissed now. I'm afraid someone at 4myrebates got overwhelmed with the volume and just tossed them in the dumpster out back. Or maybe they will magically find them 2 months later with smeared or missing postmark and reject due to that.

As someone else reported, the phone # is useless, because they put you on hold for a long time, then an automated machine says "Thank you" and hangs up. By email, I only got a response once, and it took 2 weeks to get that reply. I don't know of another way to contact 4myrebates.

I record the exact date, time, and location I send each rebate, but have no way to prove it Frown

The rebate form said "Please allow 3 weeks after mailing to make any inquiries regarding your rebate.", I mailed on 01/05, so after 01/26, I will contact to 4myrebate to resubmit copies of all documents

Mine have gone through. They even just approved a re-submission where I didn't include the correct packingslip/invoice they were looking for. What's funny about that is they allowed an additional thirty days to send the correct paper.

Another thing is I take pictures of everything about to go in the envelope beside the envelope that's already been addressed and had postage applied. I use a camera with a datestamp overlaid on the jpg. I don't know if that would even matter if it came to it, but I'd like to think it would. It's much more believable that everything was actually sent on time if there's photographic evidence that the only thing left to do was stuff the envelope and drop it in the mail, 3 weeks before the deadline.

I had a similar "late postmark" email. I politely responded that they were incorrect, and I received a reply saying the rebate had been approved. Perhaps that will work for you.

I'm still waiting for my $30 rebate. They initially denied it but chatted with a rep, and they decided to send me the $30 rebate. The rep asked if "I would take the offer." No duh I'd take the offer. I've been waiting over 3 months for this. Screw Newegg.
