FWIW, the visible antenna is only for 2.4GHz b/g/n. The 5GHz 802.11ac antenna is a small wire soldered to the board as seen in the image below from the FCC filings. So don't bother replacing the antenna to try to improve the 802.11ac performance.

So if I plug this into my laptop, it should help boost the reception and speed? I have an old Lenovo Y500 and the wireless card is terrible.

those are a lot of threads. If you've been following, can you comment on how well these work? I would just want to have a stronger signal / increased range from my laptop,

Sometimes these external antennae are just gimmicks.

In for several. These are fantastic, I use them in inexpensive builds and refurbished desktops. Beats anything under the $50-60 range.

If you get better signal using another device at the same location then this may help. Otherwise, get a wifi repeater.

Man, how does this thing keep getting promoted! New "deal" for this every week it seems...
Before you buy, take a bit of time and read through some of the previous "deal" posts for this...

You have to be joking... Did you just claim this beats anything under $50!? There aren't some great pieces of tech in that price range, from reputable companies, and no shady review practices, and no shilling.

Just search for "600mbps wifi adapter" and sort by lowest price... There are tons, exactly the same product, but for less. This thing shows up on here all the time. Not sure if you're just not in the know, or if you're paid to sponsor this post... But this is not a deal
