I hate these cans. Its a good price but they are supposed to prevent spilling and crap but they don't. I've gotten more gas on myself from cans like these than I ever did on the old style. I use Jerry cans now. They are expensive but they seal tight and I never smell gas. Plus they are amazingly easy to pour.

$3 and many in stock all around me so I may pick one up tomorrow. Compare to $17.99 at Sears.

These "smart fill" cans are kind of a pain to use. I had one last year for a while until I sold it. When you fill something up, you have to push in the spout when you're filling (to start the flow of gasoline) which can cause a bit of gas spillage. Annoying in that regard, but still a good price.

For those that have issues with this spout design, one possibility is to break off the spring and that should make it better (though more leaky),
Target has a 2 Gal and a 5Gal can that has a different and significantly better spout design which I found after going through few of these Sceptre "eazy-pour" twist spouts that are too difficult to use and more likely to spill more.
The Target one is a push design than a rotate design which makes it that much more easier.

There is a little rubber ring that stops the spill. Often times, it gets out of its place. You need to be careful to make sure it stays in place when tightening the cap. It works perfectly fine for me.
