Number of write cycles. If you have 4000-5000 hours of steady recording on something that's a year old...

Oddly, dash cam sites don't recommend this card but Roav includes an evo card with the C1 Pro.

You want an MLC based card that often comes labeled "high endurance". They're usually a good bit more expensive than these TLC cards.

TLC is cheap, fast and inexpensive compared to MLC, but its made for write sometimes and read often. MLC can take high heat and lots of write/rewrite cycles.

Try:

Transcend 400x
Sandisk High Endurance
Transcend High Endurance

Unfortunately TLC costs are high right now. Amazon has a Sandisk 32GB high endurance for ~$17.50 but its currently out of stock.

Choose amazon as the seller.

This samsung card would be good to use in a phone.

"Warranty is limited for any type of surveillance system." Reaching out to Samsung Service I received this response:
"Samsung SD Cards and Micro SD Cards are not intended to be used for continuous recording purposes for example, in surveillance systems such as a car-black box. The reason for this is because the card may fail with constant and obsessive reading and writing. They are not designed to be constantly and continuously written to."
Second email to clarify if there is a warranty:
"It would be a case by case basis. If the card would fail within its warranty period we would have to review the case."

From Sandisks warranty:

"This warranty does not cover use of the Product in connection with the following uses or devices (as determined by SanDisk): (ii) video monitoring, security, and surveillance devices"

Every sd card maker has the same sort of clause in their warranty language. I've returned SD cards for warranty and they always want it back to look at and then send the replacement.

Whether they actually test or not is anyone's guess. You might get lucky. Although I'm thinking if you ask for a replacement once or twice a year, they're going to stop covering you.

Under normal use, a TLC card will fail within 6 months. An MLC card will last for many years.

I rather get the EVO plus. I bought few not too long ago for the same price. No tax and free shipping from BH

Yup, it works for reading and writing 4k video too, so 1080 would be fine.

It's a U3, so it can definitely handle 1080p without a problem.
