Target Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note8 FREE $300 gift card with new line or upgrade

I know this website does not like being locked in to contracts, but i think this is a great deal for those who don't mind being locked in for 1 single carrier for 2 years.

Note 8= $37.54 for 24 months ($901) - $300 GC = $601
S8+ - $35 for 24 months ($840) - $300 GC= $540
S8 - $30 or 24 months ($720) - $300 GC= $420

Keep in mind that when you activate you have to pay the full tax on the regular price. I don't know if you can apply the GC at the time of phone purchase.

That's not a contract, that's financing.

Does anyone know if this deal would work in combination with Verizon's own BOGO promo going on right now? Would make this deal super slick!

Anyone know if you can use a Target gift card to pay for tax on these deals? (Not the one you earn from buying the phone, obviously.)

Yes, you could. I just verified with a store rep. only for the tax. You wont be able to pay off the phone though. As per him, you wont be able to get the Verizon BOGO deal. Also, Verizon deal is only for the new line not upgrades.

Thanks! I've tried two stores a few different times and have yet to speak with a rep. Trying to get this reserved for a family member and having a hard time. Thanks again!

This seems like a really good deal, especially for the Note 8 for Verizon - it's $60 less than Verizon's price even before taking the $300 GC into account. Most importantly, I don't see any indication that one has to sign up for a contract (besides paying off the phone), trade in a relatively new phone, or switch to VZW's unlimited plan, like many of the Black Friday deals required. The only catch I see is the stupid $30 "upgrade fee."

Am I missing anything here? Does anyone think there will be a better deal for the Note 8 for Verizon?

I think the deals will get better as the announcement and subsequent release of the S9 approach.

That's a good point for the S8 and S8+, but the Note 9 probably won't come out until the fall, which would seem to make it less likely that the Note 8 deals would improve when the S9 and S9+ come out...

This, maybe next week they'll have a similar offer on the iphones. Currently its only $100 gift card.
