Too bad it's not $40 upfront, rather large rebate for this item. But at the end it's not bad it comes over. That Optane can be sold for $40 and it's actually not bad to use, though I'd rather take a regular 120GB SSD for the same price.

It has 6 SATA ports, might make a good cheap platform for a NAS.

"All the items must be postmarked within 21 days of purchase. [newegg.com]" Not the 30 days I'm used to from Newegg rebates.

B250 should support raid 0/1 and maybe 5 but I'd say software raids for something like this would be better, but your millage my vary.

Any modern x86-64 CPU (even a Celeron!) should be able to support software RAID 5 or 6 without much difficulty, although for something that's going to be running 24/7, I'd pick something with built-in power management.

Simple question:

Can I only use the included "16GB Intel Optane Memory" as memory, then without buying an actual 16G DDR4 memory for $130-$150?

From the HowToGeek article link included on here,

Can I Use Optane Memory Instead of DRAM or an SSD Drive?

No. The 16GB and 32GB Optane M.2 modules currently being sold do not function as primary computer memory, and they don't replace a full storage drive.

Nope. Overall this is not very useful assuming you have an ssd for your OS drive. Even if you don't it is only useful in very limited situations. Probably worth skipping unless you do your research and it really helps your particular circumstances.

What can you do with 16GB Optane memory, I don't think it is enough to install Windows 10 OS with only 16GB.
