You need to spend at least $75 OOP to get the 50K in points so you can only "burn" $9.99 in points.

So you're basically paying retail for the Leatherman and then $5 for $50 worth of Sears points. Not bad if you were about spend $50+ at Sears.

Yep, that's about correct. I had $8 in bonus points and $2 in regular points I used. There's a Kmart near me (yeah, I know...Kmart?!) and I do buy mouthwash, toilet paper, etc. there and they are pretty reasonable in price vs. Target etc.

Picked one up with some "freecash" to cover the lcoal tax. Was looking to pick up another hose and some nozzles soon anyway.

This is an expensive Leatherman! I'm not familiar with this one. I already own a Sidekick which goes for about $50 and I also have the Wingman which ran me about $40. This Skeletool CX runs $80 on Amazon [amazon.com] with great reviews (4.6 of 5). The $50 back in points makes this a pretty good deal. Sears also gave me $6 surprise points ("freecash" actually) during checkout and they're shipping this to me for free (2-day). That'll work.

EDIT: I'm surprised this post isn't getting more love. Seems like an awesome tool that I don't mind adding to the toolbox. Sure it's over priced by about $5, but the "freecash" & free shipping some of us are getting, plus the $50 back in points more than makes up for that I think.

I have the regular Skeletool (non CX) and it a nice piece. However I don't see the value in the CX version , I paid $39 for mine and that was on sale, I think that was the sweet spot for price / performance. Regular version $59 on Amazon these days.

I have been daily carrying one of these for 2 years now. i. Love. It. The second i lose it, I will replace at any cost. It is fantastic tool. I use the knife daily it seems and with the blade being able to be open without opening the actual tool is what really makes this useful.
