I just signed up for this. Total Wireless is an MVNO for Verizon. It seemed like a good deal. This is for a two year agreement. You can pay off the phone early if you want.

till you pay for the rest of your life, or 24 months, whichever is sooner. It's like buying the phone for 480. Considering you can get the phone for around that price on ebay unless you want a brand new one with this service this is warm...

Price bundle is for qualified customers only. This is a lease-to-own transaction. Customer will not own the device until all payments are made. $659.00 without lease agreement. Promotional offer valid until 3/31/18. Samsung and Galaxy S are both trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Screen images simulated. Appearance of phone may vary.

If you want a brand new phone this deal seems to be good. Especially for s8. You are paying for $480 for phone and locked into 2 year contract for $35 5gb in Verizon network.

I would personally buy phones used to avoid taxes and get in mint wireless (t mobile MVNO) for $30 10GB Plan.

One thing to watch out is that s9 is coming out very soon and there will be more deals with S8

Device financing is for suckers. If you can't afford it outright, it's not in your budget. It's a phone not a car. Stuff like this is why payday loans are profitable.

It seems like people are really hard on phone deals in general.

I have been on a grandfathered unlimited data family plan with sprint for over 10 years. But with them getting rid of the huge discount on a new phone every two years, the price is now not competitive. It used to be about $50/month, and get a new $500 phone every two years for free. Now they want you to pay the same amount per month without the free phone. The wierd thing is, it was always a struggle to find phone deals on here when the two years were up that weren't voted down.

I wish I would have asked the community earlier for recommendations on phone deals. I probably would have got a better one. This one fit my needs pretty well either way. I have a challenge for you sd'rs, show me another current or recent deal where I can get a NEW S8 or iPhone 7 for $480 without a contract and get it financed for two years at zero interest. (I know this deal has you locked down for two years, but you could pay the phone off early if you want.) Then show me another Verizon MVNO where I can get a 5 GB plan for less than $35/mo. (I need Verizon because there is poor service from Sprint, and AT&T where I live.)

I tend to agree that you should probably buy your stuff outright rather than through financing. But if you can get it for a good price and zero interest I would rather have the liquid cash in my account working for me rather than someone else. Plus this is a phone not a car it is a tiny payment in comparison. (I would typically buy slightly used cars outright every 10+ years.)

I moved my old Note 4 over to tello and couldnt be happier with my new price and that I'm not under a contract. This is for my wife's phone. At some point when my Sprint Note 4 finally dies I will be out shopping again, and I hope the slickdeals community will be there to help me snag the best deal.

Well nevermind, I would now already give this deal a thumbs down and I would never recommend Total Wireless or Smart Pay. After signing up for everything and expecting overnight delivery of the phone, instead I come to find out that the payment was screwed up on the SmaryPay end, and because I am dealing with three different entities they are all blaming each other. They have now been giving me the run around via e-mail and phone for the last two hours. What a mess!!!
