I was picking up Senior coupons today and was told that all ILM RAs will close early on 2/6 and reopen as RA by Wags or something similar on 2/7. It will still be a RA but all the inventory will be transferred to Wags. Pharmacist wasnt sure if that would impact Senior Day or not. I assume this is when I will start seeing Wags on the receipts and having S* issues. I dont think anyone else here is local but pharmacist wasnt sure if they were changing that day over the bridge as well (I assume so given there is only the one). Beyond all that, pharmacist wasnt sure when they would officially stop being RA as they havent heard that yet.

I thought I would mention in case 2/7 is a big day company wide for starting of take overs.

Ours converted this week. Right now, it just means the pharmacy is Walgreens, but the front of the store still operates on Rite Aid's ad and rewards system.

sadly, stores in NEO mostly union stores are closing first. I warned about that awhile ago though people didn't believe me. My source for that info was spot on.

So sad RiteAid will be gone soon. Really do not like Walgreen in general. Today, I filled out my baby's prescription at walgreen because my insurance required us to use walgreen and the price is doubled from cvs. I filled it at cvs 4 Times and I paid only $5 each time because I got a coupon from the pediatric, but this 5th time, i filled in walgreen and walgreen wants me to pay $10 with the coupon. Even though the coupon clearly stated I only needs to pay $5 only. The whole prescription insurance is so corrupted. The whole insurance requirement to fill prescription only certain stores made me felt worst about the store itself. I really hope walgreen does not exist at all. I prefer just riteaid and cvs or best of all, let amazon or dollar store crushed them all. RiteAid, you will be missed.

I wonder why they spent the time and effort to switch back to wellness from plenti if they r gonna just close up? Well, at least I can still use up the rest of my plenti points before they close...

That is why I had a small amount of hope that Wags was going to implement Plenti once the deal was finalized. But now I just think Plenti is failing and merchants are jumping off the sinking ship. Rite Aid wasnt going to have no rewards system so they went back to what they had before, just rebranded and with a couple of tweaks.

I only know of 2 locations to close so far. I read they are supposed to keep most of the stores but getting rid of the ones they feel isn't making them enough money. walgreens still plans to close a bunch of stores they bought.

Trying to figure out the markdown schedule of a further away RA, it's not practical for me to stop in and check.

Sign on door reads "Location Closing Monday, May 21st". Does this mean it will really close on Sunday night or Monday night? Closing Monday night seems odd to me.

I first noticed this RA was closing on 5/2, last Wellness Wednesday. Because this RA is further out it isnt one I regularly go to unless its a really good week or Senior Day or I have other errands in the area. According to signage, the closing was announced 4/22. We have 6 local RAs, this is the only one closing ATM.

On 5/2 only some of the store was even on sale...makeup, cards, laundry, insecticides and maybe a couple of other smaller categories were 50%. A couple of categories were 25% off like diapers and I cant recall the other. There were a few endcaps that had meds/ supplements for 50% off, many of these items were located at non closing stores in the 75% off clearance endcap. Does this sound like the normal markdown schedule/ categories?

I stopped in yesterday and no % / category changes. the 50% off endcaps seemed about the same amount of fullness so I dont know if people arent buying or they are replacing items. They seemed to have about the same amount of Boost, thats about all I paid especially good attention to as that was what I was hoping to get at 75% off.

Another thing that may or may not be important is that ALL % signs say that the sale goes through 5/21 (the closing date). So I am wondering if this store just isnt planning on dropping the % since it is the first local store to close. Maybe the inventory is just going to get redistributed to other stores. Anyone with closing stores notice the end date on the % signs? And did it hold true?

As I mentioned earlier I cant really just stop in for price checks, it isnt practical given the distance. So I am hoping those that have had stores close already can tell me if this seemed to follow a pattern of your stores that have closed. Thanks. Smilie

If I'm right, your store should go 75% off on the 12th. but to be certain I'll say the 11th to the 12th.

I checked my store that is closing on 5/21. Some items are still have off, some 25% off and much is still full price.

Some items that are on sale at other RAs in the area were full price, the Mentholeum and Doans. I price checked the Hydralyte and it was actually higher than the shelf price indicated. 10.XX rather than $9.99. I still got the BC for the monthly items but was charged full retail less my Gold discount rather than the sale price. They still had sale signs out so IDK what the problem was with the stuff I bought, if its related to the store closing or if all stores had a pricing malfunction.

I asked at the register if the %s were going to drop before closing on the 21st. Cashier said no. What will happen is we will close on 21st, take a few days to inventory, open back up with all things at 50% for two weeks, then 75%, then 90% the last few days. So it sounds like they will be following a typical closing schedule after the closing on the 21st. It seems like they have added this extra step of a month of announced closing with bad discount levels as I dont recall this being discussed here before.
