Is there any cellphone service that offers minutes only?(no data needed)

3,381 207 January 26, 2018 at 08:52 PM
I'm just trying to figure out if there is a cheap cellphone service that I can get where I can make and receive a few calls per month - work related. I have my private number but don't want to use that for work purposes. I got an old unlocked phone and I guess I can just use a SIM card? I don't need any data services, just receiving a few calls and making a few calls each month - I would say no more than 300 minutes per month, probably even less than that.
Can any one recommend something that is cheap? Perhaps fill as you go? Can I get anything like that for $5 dollars per month? Or it's asking for too much?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

US Mobile is great for that. Excellent customer service too, I have my mother on their T-Mobile plan for over a year now. The have 2 networks to choose from on this link below, super LTE and GSM LTE. Super is Verizon network, and GSM is T-Mobile. Verizon would be 9 bucks per month for 300 minutes, and T-Mobile would be 7 bucks as they charge a different service fee for each network. You can customize the plans, and choose talk minutes only. They do charge tax on top of the plan. I have mom on the 2000 minute plan which is $10 plus $2 fee, and the tax has only been 32 cents each month. There is usually a chat button on their website if you have questions. They will let you know if your phone is compatible, and if so a sim is 3.99 shipped. They have a one month guarantee as well. Hope this helps.

If ya don't mind Sprint, Tello is $10.00 for 333 minutes and they don't expire if you make an occasional call. 10 bucks lasts my elderly Rents about 1 1/2 years!!!!

bulb save money by checking your insurance every 2 years (and not every 20) Thanks Liberty Mutual for reminding me to shop. The $842 increase this year sums it up. Across the board increase for Ohio....whatever

Why not just use Google Voice on personal device? It's free and you get separate number.

Was going to suggest this. My XM bills are $1.87/mo/line for unlimited talk and text and like 100mb of data free.

I don't see how you're going to get much cheaper than that. My mother has a tracfone and has to put $20ish on it every 90 days or the service lapses (according to her), even though the rarely uses the phone.

I am an xfinity tv/internet customer.

Every existing customer gets up to 5 lines, unlimited talk/text and 100mb data (each), for just taxes and whatnot per month. For me (CT) that happens to be $1.87.

You can buy more data for $12/GB for $45/line for unlimited.

They have 2 plans. The super ltefrom verizon is $4 fee, and the gsm plan with tmobile is $2 fee. There is a tab near the top to choose between between the two. The prices of everything else is the same after that.
