The last update today cause's realtime protection to be turned off and memory usage climbs till computer crashes !!!

A fix is in the works .

I was hit with this problem this morning as well as friends and family that use Malwarebytes .

Make sure you REBOOT after the update installs or it wont take and problem will persist !

The issue was caused by a malformed definitions file.

Agreed. I was able to download the current Update and now everything is back to normal. I did have to close MBAM and reload it before it corrected. The other problem it corrected was the inability to turn on Web Protection.

Officially, they are calling this the Malwarebytesbytes bug. That article suggests you may have do a bare metal reinstall of your OS to fix it.
