Sirius XM retention offer. Free For 6month

SmilieSmilieSmilieSmilieJust called Sirius to cancel (1 866 635 5020)my service as it expired 2 days ago. I spoke to Mandy and advised her I was confused as to why my service reflected still active on their website. I told her I took my credit card off the account 6 months ago so that it would not auto renew. She politely said there are no plans that don't auto renew and I would need to call to cancel otherwise I would be billed. So I told her I would like to cancel. She then went into the SiriusXm renewal mode and tried to get the reasons why. I told her I listened just 1-2 times a week and had no need for the services anymore. She was sorry to hear and said I could renew at the same 6month $30 deal I had before. Again I politely replied no but thank you. Without missing a beat she said since I was a long time subscriber (6 years paying $25-30 a month - no Howard Stearn package)she could give 6 months free and credit the 2 days I was charged but in doing so I would have to call back July 27 2018 to cancel. I was shocked to what I heard and apologized to her to repeat please. I had never heard of this type of deal or seen anyone mention this on many different posts on Slickdeals. Hopefully the exact details I provided hear will benefit other Slickdealers....
"YMMV" and "Call required..... My service is for automobile only. I have no streaming etc....

Its only free if you have a big enough data package (one that you never use completely on a monthly basis). Otherwise you have to pay extra to increase your data package. Ergo, its not free.

If you don't get an offer you like, let it cancel, I always get an auto generated offer that will come in the mail in a couple of weeks, usually for the $30 for 6 months type deal.

On newer cars (ie my 17 Chevy), unlimited LTE data is $20. Unlimited prepaid plan is $25 to $35. I stream instead of paying the many in-car services.

Streaming is slick if you have unlimited data... thanks for sharing

My free 3 month service on my new car is about to expire.
What's the cheapest I can get to continue to listen to Howard stern on the built in radio? Thanks

$3-5/mo, depending on the operator. Don't be afraid to call back for a better deal, and/or let it lapse for a week or so.

If you call them up and add your credit card, they will give you another 3 months plus free data.

Get unlimited data and get limitation over with. Not that expensive.

I just got 12 months for $4.95 a month. They don't usually offer 12 month promotions. I would never pay $25-$30 a month.

Standard offer is $30 for 5 and sometimes 6 months. I've was able to get 6 months only once in the last 6 years.
