Any easy way to distinguish the good from the bad on these USB-C cables?
This looks like every other generic.
I've heard of Benson's lisets, anything for non-amazon?

The page says it has a 56KΩ resistor. Other than that, it shouldn't be any more risky than buying any other USB cable. By now, I imagine most manufacturers have got their act together.

bought 4 of these last time, from same website. Had very low expectations to begin with, just figured they would be good as a spare. My phone says its charging but actually looses charge while plugged in. on all 4 cables. tried them on my lg v20 and nexus 6p.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. EVEN $1. seriously

your welcome

I bought a few last time as well, while mines charge , but they are super slow. Maybe doing 500mA. Not really worth it except for spare data cable

Also ordered some of these last time... No where near fast charging. Phone recognized it as a "slow charging" cable.

Meh. It's $1 shipped. My ZTE Warp 7 uses this kind of cable. I only have the charging cable that came with it. I think this will work fine in my car. Also... I have all kinds of super cheap micro usb cables that fast charge devices with no problem. I don't see how the cable makes a difference. I thought the actual charger that you plug the cable into is what makes the difference.

These cables are really slow to charge. The usb c connection is not that great of quality either. I wouldn't purchase these again. Even for $1

I bought one a few months ago from this same site and it did not charge very well. Charge was slow to non-existent.
