These are nothing new, but I put these up for those that are looking for an inexpensive set of amplified 5.1 speakers:
Newegg has Refurbished Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers for $41.99 with free shipping. 75W RMS with 3.5mm and RCA inputs. Some people got defective units, but Newegg has free return shipping on defective products. I have seen these for $43-53. They were $43.99 yesterday.

If you are looking for high quality sound then a $42 set of speakers is probably not what you want anyway. Also there are no optical or coaxial spdif inputs, but then it's $42. They should be good for gaming. There are mixed reviews about the sound quality. I'm sure anybody with discerning ears will want to steer clear of any speakers for under $100.

I got these from Walmart a while ago, not impressed. They are ok. At $40 I am not sure they are worth that. I would just save the $40 towards another set of speakers. I bought these because my old set of speakers bit the dust and I needed a set.

For $42 the only way these wouldn't be good value is if you get a defective set. Way cheaper than other 5.1 setups and a lot of mini-itx boards have 3.5mm audio outs for surround sound but no digital.

For ~$10 more I'd just get these from Amazon and have the nice return option if needed.

That's true. Amazon usually has free UPS pickups. Is that for everything?

I will add that in here so people have that option. Thank you.

Yes. It needs an aux input so you can just plug it into the green 3.5mm jack or the two rca jacks.

Got them from Walmart about two years ago. They're cheap but work well. No complaints for the price I paid and they output decent sound with decent base. I have hooked them up with raspberry pi in my bedroom and play movies on it - I am impressed.
