A lot of questions regarding generic toner:
This model printer is a new release (2018) and it appears that Brother is using a new toner lineup: TN730 and TN760 (updated from TN630 and TN660), with the 760 being the high yield version.
There are no generic toners available right now but it looks like they are coming:
The prices are high for generic, but most likely they will fall to normal prices and be put on Amazon shortly after release. In the meantime, the printer comes with a starter toner rated for 700 pages.
It appears that the new toners come with a chip. The links to the generic toner above seem to indicate that you have to remove the chip from the original toner cartridge and install it on the generic cartridge. The printer will show that the cartridge has no toner left but that it will still print fine.
My belief is that eventually the generic toner manufacturers will reverse engineer the chip and be able to make their own chip to include on the generic toner so you don't have to move the chip from one toner to the next.
