I use one of these by my nightstand for Netflix in bed and it's great. Anything heavier than a phone will sag though. I have an xps 12 in there and by the morning it's 1/2 way to the floor.

free advice to anyone who buys this;

notice the tall rigid neck above the clamp?
you need to grip that firmly every time you reposition this
otherwise the crap plastic joint there will crack off the clamp from the "gooseneck".

so always get these cheap and consider them disposable.

I have the amazon tablet 8" on one of these and it doesn't sag. But keep in mind, this version OP posted is for phones only since the mount only stretches 3" wide.

Also note, it wobbles a lot so don't expect doing anything else other than passive apps like watching movies or reading books.

Everytime you let go of your finger from the screen you have to do it diligently lol otherwise it annoyingly shakes.

Still better than having to hold your phone with 2 hands. I like it, clamp could be better. Use common sense when tightening it.

Not good for a car dashboard. Every bump will make this thing shake like crazy

Is there really any difference between this and the ~$3 ones on eBay?
(edit) I don't that the $3 ones have a clip base, but that there are ones for $5 with this screw type base... wondering if anyone has tried the ones on eBay, because as one commented wrote above these are pretty disposable, so if they are pretty much the same, I'm thinking of getting the $5 version.

I just searched eBay for "gooseneck phone holder" in "cell phones and accessories" and it brought back a ton...I don't have this one or the ones on eBay, so honestly wondering if anyone has tried this exact model (most comments so far have talk about one "like" this) or the ones that show up in eBay search.
After looking more, I see the $3 ones have a clip and not a "screw" for the base attachment... But I see this one at $5 that looks to be pretty much the same. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/...3000184819

from my experience with this design of holder (no bottom support). I would not buy. As phones are very heavy now the force is not enough to hold the phone

The hairclip style on that one doesn't seem as convenient. The style OP posted, I can take the phone on/off with one hand pretty easily, not sure about the hairclip one.

Ok, here's one with a more similar style for $6: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flexible-360-Clip-Lazy-Bed-Desktop-Bracket-Mount-Stand-Holder-For-Phone-Tab... [ebay.com]

I see that, there are some differences... Just curious if anyone actually owns it or one of the cheaper seemingly similar ones on eBay and Aliexpress. Just trying to understand if this is a slickdeal or just something that can be found everyday on other sites for this price or less.
I just don't see any of these lasting that long with regular use, so if you're going to end up having to replace one occasion, cheaper might be a benefit to some.
