If you're like me, already have Ecobee(s) but want to add more sensors then here is the deal I came across.
2 sensors for $57.99, probably the cheapest price in the last 1 year, if you exclude YMMV prices.
https://www.amazon.com/ecobee-Roo...B00NXRYOIQ

More Info:
Quick And Easy Pairing With Your ecobee
Just remove the battery tab and the pairing process will start with your ecobee.
Room sensors are compatible with ecobee4, ecobee3 lite & ecobee3.
Long Battery Life
The wireless room sensor uses a coin cell battery that lasts an average of two years and is easy to replace. You will receive an alert if the battery is running low.
Warranty
3 years limited parts and labor.

If you need to know how/why/if they're better than Nest, pls do a search on the forum. Many other Ecobee threads have great info.

anyone have experience with range on these sensors. I have an ecobee 3 that keeps disconnecting with a sensor. I'm upgrading to ecobee 4 and hope it has better range than the3

Can anyone with experience chime in?
Thanks

I had that issue after one of the batteries died, once I put in a new one it would disconnect after a couple hours. Oddly I have replaced a different sensors battery as well but never had a problem with that one. Here is what I followed to fix the one that was acting up:
1) Take out the back flap of your remote sensors.
2) Take out the battery of the remote sensors.
3) Flip the battery (upside down) and put the battery back in the remote sensors.
4) Go to Main Menu >> Sensors on your thermostat and click on the wireless sensor and on the 'X' to remove the sensor.
5) Remove the thermostat from the wall
6) Wait for 2 minutes and plug back the thermostat into the wall and wait for it to boot up and display the home screen again.
7) After a minute, take the remote sensor close to the thermostat and flip the battery again in the original position on the remote sensor.
8) Once the battery is in its original place, you will be able to reconnect your remote sensors to the thermostat.

I have mine located around 60 feet away behind a wall and it connects fine with my ecobee4.

Also the range on the 3 vs 4 is the same rated 45ft. The only difference between the 3 & 4 is the built in Alexa feature.

Hope people know that one can build something like this for a fraction of the cost with Arduino and parts.
