I've been waiting for another deal on a PSVR bundle, and while this isn't as good as the $299 one I missed out on, it's still a good deal. BestBuy currently has the same bundle on sale for $349.99.

Bundle includes:
PlayStation VR headset
PlayStation Camera
DOOM VFR game
*NO move controllers*

Has anyone tried both versions? I already have the camera, and I can be just as happy with or without Doom (it is $15 right now on FP, so it is not a consideration in paying an extra $150). Considering just the v1 headset was on sale for $150 the other day, is all of the changes to the cord and headset worth double the cost. I can also live with or without DVR pass through. So my only hesitation is all the talk about the cords and headset, and those sort of changes. Is the v1 really that weighed down by the cord to make it annoying, etc.?

I have V1 and the chord is fine the headset is very comfortable. I chose to save the money as I did not need the HDR pass through. The other stuff is just cosmetic really and won't make your experience any better or worse.

I need another $180 or less deal on the GT bundle. Just isn't worth the extra cost for the V2's minimal changes.

Do you still need a TV for this? Just asking because my TV is wall mounted and all my home theater stuff including the PS4 Pro is off to the side. I don't want to run wires again into my wall just to get the camera on top of my TV. I'm assuming I could just set it up on the side facing my home theater components, should still have plenty of area in my family room to roam around.

You can play without a TV. You do have to wire The VR box to your PS4 which will then go to your TV. In short... you do not need your tv to play the game itself but rewiring is non avoidable.
