I didnt see anyone post this but on the discover site when I try to submit a price protection claim, a message popped up

"Effective February 28,2018, we will discontinue Extended Product Warranty, Purchase Protection and Return Guarantee due to low usage among cardmembers."

Purchase protection isn't the same as price protection.

I'm going to be really upset by this. I specifically got a discover card for those benefits and price protection. They've already changed price protection to the point it's nearly useless to me and if they remove these, I guess I'll be using another card instead.

Read again what you posted very carefully. Read it again out loud for at least three times. Price protection and purchase protection are not the same Big Grin

getting rid of it because of usage? hardly.

it's because america is changing and certain things are going away.

either they don't need it to compete or it's costly.

Good riddance it was a horrible and cheap way to get deals. All the good deals would be gone before black Friday even started because of this BS.

Your post title and what you quoted aren't the same thing, so most likely, one of them is incorrect.

OP you naughty naughty boy. Almost gave me a heart attack!

Anyways, still sucks that they are getting rid of extended warranty and return guarantee. I've actually used return guarantee a few times.

According to The Points Guy, they are also getting rid of Auto Rental Insurance and Flight Accident Insurance. But good news is price protection will remain.

Guys, purchase protection means buyers remorse, not price match. The credit card company will reimburse you if you have buyers remorse for a product within 90 or 120 days. I've used this with chase on a 350 phone I bought. Worked like a charm. It's a good benefit to have.

That stinks that they are getting rid of purchase protection and extended warranty. Go to social media and voice your opinion that these should stay. We have a month and with a loud enough movement they will keep it.

I am sure they are getting rid of it because of the cost to them. I don't believe they are frequently used because people don't know about it.

Thought purchase protection is for damaged and stolen items? Is there really a buyers remorse option when submitting?
