Got one a couple weeks ago at $85. It is a nice set but I would not say great. Could use a few more sockets. More different deep and normal. Lots of the 200 pieces are screwdriver heads and the like. For me it is a good portable set for around the house or to throw in the truck.

Don't get me wrong for under $100 it is a great deal but think I will pick up another bigger one that I just keep around the house. I am glad I got it. The last time I bought a big set was 15 years ago and several things have gone missing.

Costco in stores (at least in my area of SF Bay Area) has a similar Dewalt 181-piece set in matte black for $100 regular, and $80 when it goes on sale. In case someone prefers darker sockets.

What you call "fluff" are tools that are often necessary when working on modern cars to remove covers, clips, panels, clamps, shields, etc.

But if you don't need those for what you do, instead of looking at a portable cased general use mechanic's tool set, you could just buy a socket set and wrench set.

Try the $99 Amazon one if you need more sockets. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0767NGBP8/

This "deal" is within 10% of regular price. If we are going to rehash these fake deals every couple days, may as well continue the conversation where we left off. Anybody find out if the Amazon set has the locking/quick release feature?

Been looking around a lot for a decent set. I'm looking to build something more comprehensive. Anyone have suggestions on socket sets and wrench sets that are cheap and decent? I'm a big fan of HF, except their normal wrenches are pretty bad and the ratcheting ones are ok. Sockets and socket wrenches don't seem very good. But when I hear folks talk about them they're singing their praises. Maybe I should just get the 301 pc HF set and try it. I've always had some craftsman American made sets but lost a lot of them in a move a few years back.

"Less fill" means that you have to carry another bag with supplemental tools in it to make up for the missing drivers and bits that are so often necessary when working on modern equipment.
