Depends. I've never heard about this game so judging from the title, this is what I got.

Pros:RPG
Cons:RPG

Yeah, what's the point of making rpg games for yourself? I thought the whole point of this is to have a community and share projects. I can't see that working well on the 3ds.

I see. Make sense on what you said considering that the 3DS is at the near end of it life. This year may be it last

The original rpg maker for PlayStation(no bloody 2, 3, 4, or whatever) was immensely entertaining as a young child to me. I can see a young crowd with decent (if not a lot) free time getting into it. How many times have you heard critics say a game is great BUT xyz was unbalanced, boring, grindy, repetitive, etc? Well now you can take a stab at it do better.

Oh I recall spending quite a lot of hours trying to get the balance just exactly right so the first forced encounter almost killed your party but did not in 3 rounds. The original did not have an option to keep the game going if the party was wiped out, you had to reload your save. As its the first encounter there was no save and the game would have to be started over.

Also as i recall even the original had a save function and the idea was tp pair it with a pc at some point and you could post your memory card data for others to download, transfer to their card, load up and play. If ps1 could do that than i think it would be crazy for this to not have that feature on a wireless system.

I PM'd at Best Buy over chat. The downside was that it took over 30 minutes for some reason.

Why do u say the 3DS which I'm assuming would include the 2DS is at the end of its life? What do u see as replacing it?

Sharing the games is arguably the part that works best. The interface is nice and there's a lot of neat stuff available for download. IIRC, that aspect is free and you don't need the game.

Where this game falls flat is the lack of tutorial to teach you what anything does and the creation interface is super cramped. It's hard to do anything and it takes forever.

3DS came out in 2011. Seven years is a looooong time for a console. Nintendo tends to support their stuff for a long time so there's a good chance it'll get a few more years in a zombie state, but the huge success of the Switch ensures that it's going to get the focus for a while.

Yes. You only have to pay to make, playing created games that are shared by others is free.

Even though it's been around which seems like forever in tech world, there's still no device like it & the catalog of games are great. It def can use some tweaking. The Switch is nice but not the most rugged, durable for a portable system in comparison esp for children.
I think they both have their need without crossing each other. It would be nice if Nintendo could find a way to combine the best of both systems.

If I'm not mistaken, the player app for FES is free on the eShop, so if you are only interested in playing other people's creations you don't need this game.
