I always use turbotax online but this seems cheaper ... usually use deluxe (online) but premier sounds great....

Q: "and one download of a TurboTax state product"

does that mean I'll have to pay state efile? (If so, anyone know the price? for each)

Thx

I used CK last year and it worked flawlessly. However, this year is a different story. I moved and CK won't file states for me, not even one state and if I had gone through CK, I had to file both states separately on my own.

CK works for simple situations but if you bought a house, or lived in multiple states, CK is not for you. #jussaying.

Which version should I go with if I'm just a single dude with a student loan and some savings accounts? Premier is cheaper, that should work right?

Don't think you need premier. Probably can just used the free version. Go to turbotax and used the absolute zero version.

If you need to figure out what version of turbo tax you need they have a questionaire:

Questionaire [intuit.com]

Not sure how good it is but it's a start.

never used them, are they actually free, or do they tack on fees as you go for "more complicated returns," as well as charging for e-file?
