are there some really cheap alternatives to this? my front doorbell is rang maybe twice a year so i don't need this expensive product but i would like to have a camera on my front door that doesn't exactly look like a surveillance camera. a ring camera looks legit and doesn't look like you are spying on the neighborhood if you put up a nest camera or an amazon camera for example. just looking for maybe a $50 cheap chinese knockoff with a button and lens.

eta: never mind, i'm finding them.

The very first word in the op is an active link. Click on the word "Amazon".

Did the $10 referral credit work for anyone? It's been one week and mine still is not showing.

Can that $10 credit be combined with this deal?

Not sure what difference is, but this is for Ring Doorbell 2. Wasn't able to find a warehouse deal you mentioned.

I've been looking myself but it seems difficult to weed out the knock-offs from something semi-legitimate.

Check out the blink doorbell. It has not yet been released but it gonna be wire free (batteries) and discreet with free cloud storage. It was recently purchased by amazon so I think it is a safe bet for the future

dont fall for ring's business model with their monthly fees. look into something that doesn't have a middle man like ring or skybell but records directly to micro-sd card. meaning 24hr recording, more control, can connect to NVR etc.

"Easily charge your doorbell with the quick-release rechargeable battery pack"

What happens if someone steals the battery pack? Is it something that easily detaches?

$30/year for Cloud storage for 1 doorbell. I'm not complaining. Covers you if the doorbell is stolen or damaged. Excellent customer service. Got mine a couple of months ago and works like a charm if you have strong wifi signal out at your door.

That's not true. You have to buy the 100 a year model if you want the stealing coverage

The cloud monthly service fee is painful but if the "intruder" smashes the doorbell is the sd card loaded within the doorbell? So the recorded footage is gone versus the cloud where its secure. The NVR units look to be pricey...are there other alternatives? I bought a Ring 2 for my parents for Christmas but they havent installed it yet because my dad hates the monthly fee so I will end up paying it if I don't find an alternative. They live across the road from a gas station that is robbed every month it seems so id like some extra security for them.
