Well worth the price. I've bought the GTKXB7BC on a Christmas sale at BB and I love the sound. I believe this one though is rechargeable.

I own one. Has rechargeable battery that's good for 6-7 hours of no lights medium sound levels. On full blast it's just under 5 hours. Good sound. Surprising amount of detail and bass. It's no kef ls50 but it definitely sounds better than Sonos in my opinion

My dad has the XB7 which is the same basic design just bigger, and it's very directional. Which can be good or bad. If you stand next to it or behind it or even right in front of/above it when it is on the floor, the sound loses a lot of brightness than if you are right in the sweet spot. The point being, it's not the kind of speaker you'd sit in the center of a room and have good sound all around.

We also had a lot of trouble pairing and then reconnecting devices over Bluetooth. A device that had been paired and then stopped playing wouldn't be able to reconnect later on without re-pairing (physically holding the pair button on the speaker).

I have the GXB7 also. Yeah you need to put it at the corner to hear it's full potential. And let me say it kicks. Sounds better than my passive speakers. I use it with my dj gigs and only problem I have is sometimes there's a latency delay. But pushing the bass button on and off fixes it.

The Bluetooth problem i think is connecting multiple devices. Because it auto connects. Also if you download the Sony app you can customize the lights and change the Bluetooth setting stand by mode to off. That might fix your problem

Having hands-on experience with most of the current XB series speakers, my first impression was that the larger the speaker, the more bass-heavy with recessed highs it was. However, after applying EQ (Either via my phone or via Sony's Fiestable plug-in), the potential of the larger speakers were realized - retaining their bass advantage while bringing up the mids and highs. This made a very significant improvement on the XB60 & XB90, since they both utilize seperate woofers & tweeters. After trying numerous brands that are highly esteemed on the forums, I finally settled on the XB30 (blew the XB20 away in bass, & in all areas after EQ). I liked it so well for the price that I bought another to connect via Wireless Party Chain for stereo. I later picked up an XB90 which is impressive - and even more so when used in conjunction with the other pair. For the discounted prices the XB series can often be had for, they are a Go, IME.
