Yes this blender is more than enough for that. Only thing is it is really dam loud. If you stand near it, you'll receive ear damage unless your ears are already damaged. I can go outside my house and still hear the blender.

Best buy changed the sale price back to the normal price when I went to checkout. For me it still shows full price. Managed to get it from new egg link with no sales tax as well.

Is this good enough to make those "green shakes"? Reviews? I want to use it daily and eat and mix different veges

I don't have this exact model, but another Auto-IQ one and it doesn't seem louder than any other high end blender. I don't think it's any louder than my Vitamix

We bought this a few weeks ago on eBay for $85. It's well worth the money. But I agree that it is pretty loud.

This is a great blender, I've made everything from burgers to shakes to Pizza dough in mine. To make the dough you need the special blade though. Great for plain old shakes by far.

Hope I can get some enthusiastic knowledgeable blender owners to hep me out here:

I had an older blender give out on me just last night and was doing some research to replace it when I came across this thread.

I only blend frozen costco fruit smoothies and not much else so I need a basic cheap blender that does a decent job with smoothies, crushing ice and stand the daily rigor of being used once a day everyday. My research led me here [consumersearch.com] and here [thewirecutter.com] and the overall consensus seems to be the the KitchenAid KSB1570ER.

Will this Ninja be an upgrade over the KitchenAid since the prices are pretty much the same or should I just go with the KitechenAid?

Hmm.. we've had ninja auto iq with the 3 ninja cups. We've been thinking about stepping up to a regular blender, blendtec or vitamix. How does this compare?

For me, in the daily routine of making shakes, ease of cleaning goes a long way. The small cups with the smaller bladed base helps that. I can't speak for long term durability but I would rather replace one every few years than spend extra time cleaning every morning.
