45 bricks... Is the resale value on these going to justify paying $20?

Would anyone actually open the box to build this?

Thinking the same thing. At $.44 a brick, it's kind of ridiculous, no one is buying this for fun.

Its funny because it only exists to be a "collectors item", and yet they probably over produced them so highly that there will be no actual collectors market for them. Such a weird marketing choice. I don't get why it's not $9.99

Anybody know how "limited" these are? It says each box is serial numbered, but it's a big difference if it's ###/1000 or ###/10000000000...

$20 is a huge ripoff for this. Almost $0.50 a brick and they're just basic bricks at that.

Even the expensive Star Wars stuff comes in well under that. The actual price of this relative to other sets with common unprinted pieces should be like MAYBE $10 on the spendy side, probably more like $7.99.

LEGO is cashing in on long time lego fans who remember this era of sets, nothing more. I don't think it'll make a good investment either for those looking to sell down the road. It's too basic, the starting price is too high, and only a very specific group of people will really want it - and those people are the ones who will buy it at $20 already.

If you don't want it for the novelty and for your collection stay away from these (there are two more coming).

You can bet it's an enormous number since they don't even tell you. Maybe 60,000 MINIMUM since it's the 60th Anniversary, though.
