I have an Energizer brand jump box that's absolutely spectacular, I've used it on my 4.0L Jeep with a high output alternator many times before I ended up having the funds to replace the battery.

I highly recommend it. As i've had it for 2 years and it's helped me and others who've needed jumps

The HO alternator part is irrelevant but she has no clue about that.

The rest, I guess she's sharing her experience about how useful a portable jump starter , similar to this, could be. I would say that is relevant.

Since there seems to be 50 different Chinese brand names for these things on Amazon, I think feedback on which ones are actually decent is relevant.

The Fakespot for this particular product is a B, but it appears the brand may have some less reputable listings.

I think this is the lowest it has ever been.

I bought one before Xmas for $52.49 and iirc the lowest up until that point was in the high 40's. It's decent, but beware of random battery drain. I found that when in the case that the accessories on the other side of the pouch can trigger the unit to stay on. The buttons are too sensitive, units will turn on if fumbled around and lightly pressing on the front casing can cause the units display to turn on or send it into boost mode.

I remedied the random drain issue by strategically arranging the contents of the case so that there would be less likelihood of any interference. I placed the unit in the front pouch with the 12v charger and usb connector to the left of it. For the back pouch lay the cable handles flat with the wall charger at the top by the opening.

I don't think you'll find a more powerful unit at this price. At the normal $65-70 price I'd look into different options.

I was interested in this until I saw 2 things: 1) The company's rep. 2) The fact this has cheap plastic clamps. This is a big deal breaker for me because it's pretty useless if the clamps break on you! Pretty much as bad as buying an emergency accessory from a company with a bad rep. There are so many of these same type Chinese generic chargers, at least find one with decent hardware and a good company to support it. A quick search on Amazon showed quite a few for just $10 more that have same/similar specs, but with full brass clamps (with metal joints).
Just my two cents... Anyways, my search continues...

I find (in general) many portable jump starters rapidly loose power over time (even those which are plugged in on a regular basis
I would be willing to pay a decent price (w/o coupon) for a portable unit that can last 3+ years

Do you know if the Energizer one you have is still being sold? If so, could you link it? Thanks!

Great deal, jump on this if you need one. Disregard the Fakespot as some geniuses say above, of course it's going to have fake reviews, it's a Chinese company. But the product is legit and the clamps are fine and standard for this type of device.

As someone who has owned several Chinese jump starter battery packs, they all drain themselves within a few weeks while being stored, rendering them mostly useless. I would highly recommend saving your pennies and purchasing one that has a lot of good reviews that indicate that it will hold a charge for several months or a couple of years.

the packs that drain themselves within a few weeks also stopped working within a few months because the battery will get discharged way below 0% and will never come back to life, making the whole unit trash.

Look for one that has a hardware flippable on off switch. The Chinese ones with clicky digital buttons are almost guaranteed to have some parasitic drain.

I am adding that it also depend on how "dead" your battery is at the time.

My Jump starter can do fine if the battery is weak to about 10V. But a few times when my battery is down to 7 and 5, it completely could not jump the car. A spare car battery save my ass these few times.

My car is a 4.3L and the jump start is rated at 400A. I'm tempted to get this 800A.

Since my initial problem as noted above, the unit has been @ 100% for a little over a month. 02

So, they act like your typical battery?
