I just missed the 49" TCL 4k TV slickdeal because it sold out when I found this TV for sale. It doesn't have wifi/ethernet but you can use it with Fire TV / Roku / Chromecast. Plus it's 6" bigger for only $30 more.

https://www.rakuten.com/shop/beac...55UGX3500/

Use coupon code SAVE15 for the 15% off your order (maximum $50 discount)

I've never owned a Haier TV and I think they are one of the low end budget brands but the price was right for me.

The 55" TLC at Walmart is much better for $348, Smart TV and HDR. WM also has a Sceptre 55" for $299.

I've had a 65in Haier for about 2 years now. No problems. Mine is not a smart TV, but I only use FireTV so smart TVs are a waste for me. Mine has better sound than expected, but the picture was about what I expected. For comparison the 65in was $500 delivered a couple or more of BF ago.

Yeah, I've never understood the concept of "SmartTV's" Maybe it's apart of the companies planned obsolescence.

Make sure you weigh your options between just 4k and 4k HDR. I would recommend your main TV have both 4k and HDR. As a secondary or other room TV 4k is ok. Most new technology uses hdr and not just 4k. As always do your research before any large purchase! Just my 2 cents.

So you only have one device, a TV. That isn't typical. Also, there are remotes that will control many devices so anyone can have "one remote" and not just a single TV.

I do only have the roku tv and nothing is connected to it. I have a cable subscription and i don't even have the box connected (it was cheaper to get a bundle than just internet). As far as remotes very few can control a roku and even if you get one of those few when you start too factor in the price of the TV + roku + remote you'll find that you are better off buying a tv with the roku integrated. Obviously that's case with me and it's different for everyone.

99% sure this is the same one kohl's had on BF for 299 with 100ish in kohl's cash. I bought it and think it's great. The Haier site claims it's not mountable for this model number but mine is Vesa.

I think it's more for people who don't have a roku, fire TV, etc. Who want to upgrade or replace their TV.
