This refigerator has a 73% recommendation rate. Newer reviews seem better.
If you can get 10% off via promo code, the price is $358 for an 18-cu ft. fridge!
This is possibly the cheapest Energy Star refrigerator I've seen in this size.

I need one. And one store not too far away has a few.

Not the best reviews though. And I think I want a larger one.

I have a bunch of old sears gift cards and who knows how long they will be around?

But, I'm sure I have never seen one close to the price of this one with coupon.

Finally, my old one may last a few more years although it sure sounds like its on its last leg.

I was just researching mid-size refrigerators. Freezer on top is good / most energy efficient. GE seems to have the highest rated in this category.

As for this one, there are some common themes among the complaints such as poor seals / leaking air, freezer not cold enough / drips condensation, poor quality interior parts and door handle, and loud.

Personally, great price, but I wouldn't bother with such a seemingly problematic refrigerator. Also realize that many people who write reviews have only had the fridge for a short while.

I would wait for a GE to go on sale at Costco. They come with a 2 year warranty and if you purchase with Citi card you get an additional 2 year warranty = total 4 year warranty on a quality product. Pay a little more and get something good with a good warranty from a good retailer.

Got this refrigerator a while ago on a different deal for the garage. Found out that I needed to get a "warming" kit because the compressor turns off once the outside temps gets below a certain tempature which unfroze everything in the freezer. Still kept the beers cold in the refrigerator so I'm good with it.

I'm still seeing it. You might have to change stores and find one that has it in stock. With Lowes, once a particular store runs 'out of stock', the online price at That store defaults to the Full price.

I got a rep from a very nice SDer who also informed me there's a $60 off $400 promo code.
So $398 + $2 filler - $60 = $338 for a full-sized Energy Star refrigerator. I say try to beat that! Wink

You could add a $2 filler and then use the $60 off $400 purchase. Final price would be somewhere around $340
