D&D Beyond $10 off coupon

Use coupon code BEGINNINGS for $10 off anything in the Dungeons & Dragons Beyond marketplace. Limit one use per account.

This is the cheapest price yet for the campaign adventures. The previous sale D&D Beyond ran was $20 for any book, so the $30 sourcebooks are the same sale price with this coupon, but the $20-25 campaign books are cheaper with this coupon.

I personally prefer buying the campaign books on Roll20 because they're loaded into Roll20, but the cost difference is significant. Roll20 never has sales and charges $50 for them, while you can buy Tomb of Annihilation on D&D Beyond with the coupon for $15!

The Tortle Package is $1.99, which is a digital only offering. That's probably going to be the lowest price ever on that.

I'm finding conflicting information on the World Wide Web, so I'm hoping someone can answer me. Is the D&D Beyond content JUST compendium, or does it also include a PDF?

I use Roll20 religiously and plan on eventually buying all the content there (I already own most of the physical books), but I would really appreciate a PDF version of some of the content I have physically or on Roll20. Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide here!

It is not a PDF version of the book nor can it be downloaded. It includes the Compendium content, which is a web-based version of the book. The Basic Rules are free and look exactly like the paid Compendium content but without pictures https://www.dndbeyond.com/compend...asic-rules

It also includes the Monster, Spell, and Item databases https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells

It activates included content in the character builder https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/builder

And everything is searchable from the web interface.

Wizards of the Coast is committed to not selling PDFs of the content, except for first-party AL Adventures, AL supplement material, third-party AL Adventures, third-party supplements on DMsGuild, DMs Guild Adept PDFs, some supplements like the Tortle Package, the Basic Rules, and any of the countless rules and playtests they post all the time. They are 100% committed to no PDFs. As Mike Mearls has stated, a physical book "has value" and "is compelling and really interesting", whereas PDFs do not and are not. He wants to "give you reasons to spend your money", and PDFs are not a reason to spend money. All those AL Adventures they're trying to sell us as PDFs? All the content they have on DMsGuild? Have none of it! Those aren't reasons to spend money! And he also said that if you don't want to buy the book, "just pirate it, that's easy, there's already a free PDF out there." http://www.enworld.org/forum/cont...S-Settings

End rant on Wizards not selling PDFs

My friend has suggested using Roll20 to me. I cruised around the site a bit the other night, but I didn't get much further than that. Is it a useful tool that is easy to get into, based on your experience?

Thanks and repped, OP!

I absolutely love Roll20! I currently play in 3 games and I am running my first game tomorrow. It's super easy to use and I love being able to create elaborate maps I wouldn't be able to do on a traditional mat.

If you make an account, I can invite you so you can take a look at one of the pre-genned adventures I plan on running later this year. It should give you a better idea if roll20 is up your alley.

If you play in person, Roll20 is good but D&D Beyond is better because it's cheaper, has a proper character builder, and has all the content including the PHB and you can share it with your group.

If you play on the computer, Roll20 is invaluable. Fantasy Grounds is another option and it's cheaper in the long run, but if you're just wanting to get started with RPGs online then Roll20 is the best option because it's free and popular. I don't know if you're in a group online or run one, but if you're just starting out and wanting to play online with friends, have the DM buy the Starter Set on Roll20 and get playing.

I literally have books I have to bring with me to work because of the lack of legalized pdfs (working on game before work and during lunch). I brought the phb and xanathar thinking it was all I needed and realized I needed the dm book. This is ridiculous. I wanna give Wotc money three times for the same content and they just refuse.
