Just FYI, it is not recommended you mount things, especially heavy things the way you describe. If there were a crash and rapid deceleration, it would throw your iPad on your child at fast speed. This is the reason those child mirrors are lightweight and certified in crash tests. Obviously the probability is low but I personally don't take the risk with my children.

For those wondering, this is the same deal that was out there in mid January. I got one and it works very well. Bought another for the other side of the car.
I've tested a galaxy s6 with phone case and i felt really comfortable with it in there. Enough that I'd put my nintendo switch in there.

Looks good for the long car rides for those of us that don't live that rap dream and have a tv where my head lay

Probably won't work in Audis.

I got the velcro wrap around headrest one instead, it's pricey for what it is but we will see if it works or not.

I also purchased this for my Switch, and it's awesome. I will sit in the back seat in my car during my lunch break and get in some rounds of Splatoon 2. Works perfectly.

FYI, these are cool but, I bought one for my daughter to use while sitting in her car seat. Because her seat is rear facing, it has to go on the head rest for the back seat rather than the front. The poles are closer together and therefore it is too big to fit. Tried it in both cars so I assume this would be a common problem for those that want for this purpose. Good info, one thing mostn people don't know is what is inside your car becomes projectiles i a car crash which causes serious injury.
