Look like we don't need a Staples weekly thread anymore.

OMG. They really killed the rebate program and coupons off. I'll be having withdrawal symptoms. But thank you Staples, it was fun while it lasted. Now, I wonder what to do with my 3.5-month old plus membership.

There isn't a single in store /online rebate or paper coupon available. I can't recall this ever happening previously with Staples. RIP Staples.

Yeah, I am trying to figure out what to do with my less than a week old membership(s).

I'll give it a few weeks before officially declaring the rebates all dead though. Maybe they will do like a 1 month trial and look and some data then decide to bring them all back when they realize their foot traffic takes a huge hit.

If they are toast for good, I am predicting Staples itself will be toast within a year or so (at least B&M's).

Maybe Amazon can swallow them up and use their B&M stores for something useful.

Regarding Staples Plus membership, I see no incentive in the $41.99 special pricing (28% off or $16 special savings) for the MP case 513096, when its ring-up price is already $31.99 (45% off or $26 instant savings). What's the point of having special membership pricing when everyone else is getting the new lower price of $31.99? I think they should at least offer an even lower price for Plus members, like $15-$20 per case. If and when they offer $15-$20 cases without purchase limits (I wish) in the near future, I will have something to roll my few thousands worth of Staples rebate cards on.

Or maybe, they could cancel the Plus program altogether and refund those unused months remaining for the annual membership, so I can revert back to my premiere status and earn 5% on all my paper purchases like before. I really don't know, I am just thinking of ways on how to move on from this. I just hope they anticipated the possible consequences on their business rewards program after killing off their rebates/coupons.

Well, I see the end of rebates as an opportunity to take a long break from Staples. I won't miss having 1 less thing to do on my weekly task list. I saw the handwriting on the wall ages ago and took advantage of the good paper deals (the ones that work out to well under $1 per ream after tax and rebates). I'm glad I didn't trust them enough to pay for that Plus membership.

If the paper doesn't degrade or rot in the garage, I would never need to buy another ream for the rest of my life. Of course if paper degrades then I may have to get rid of some and buy more in some number of years. For now my fort has plenty of space inside it. People thought I was crazy. "They think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am MAD! Didn't you hear 'em? Didn't you see the crowds? Oh, my beloved ice cream bar, how I love to lick your creamy center!"

RIP Staples rebates. Maybe when their paper sales drop off a cliff and they find that only businesses (who can write off some of the price) buy paper at these prices, Staples will bring back rebates and good deals or decide that they don't want regular old customers like us but businesses only. If my paper never rots, they could make paper a million dollars a ream and I wouldn't care.

EDIT: Thinker, I repped you again and thanks for posting the weakly Staples status even if the sales suck and people are TDing your thread. Hearing there are no rebates or coupons means I don't have to waste time looking at their site this week, so your thread is useful to me.

Relax. When one door opens another closes...or was it the other way around? The story of Staples deals ending has been told and retold often enough. Every time, the deals have reinvented themselves. Of course we don't have magic coupons anymore, but did everyone not think it was the end of the world when magics ended? Similarly when non-RP 25/75s ended and so on...along the way lots just bailed out because they never could see the NEW deals. Yet, here we are in 2018 thinking this is it. Again.

Are some of these on B2G1 too? I saw a sign in-store saying the Multipurpose 5-ream case (SKU 1147484) is B2G1 until 3/30/2018.

OMG, staples doesn't have paper rebates for a week or two so it must prove they are ending all rebates. (This after having a full month straight of $1 5-ream paper cases.)

Where've you been? Staples is already swallowed up. This is likely just a step toward the end of Staples, as we know it.
