Looks like an old AMD chip that competed with the 6th gen Intel stuff and it's 28nm, not very enticing, but this with a new and zen chip would rock even without the extra GPU.

This is not a power house by any means. However, if someone wants a decent Home laptop for multimedia, day to day work, may be some light gaming then this is a good deal. The Processor and the 12GB ram can handle most of the day to day stuffs with ease.

Having no battery and direct power would cut extra weight of laptop instead of having 2 cell battery.

Would definitely hold out for a Ryzen-based laptop if you can. Not that this is a bad price or anything. It's just that this particular processor is dated. The next gen models (due out soon) should run significantly faster, consume less power and will be priced aggressively.
