Lowe's has the Leatherman Wingman model multi-tool for way better than average price. Most outlets have it for $39 - $45. Shipping is free with a MyLowes sign up.

Just to add on to that, the Wingman has a much more thoughtful design than that Chinese multitool, with outward-deploying (meaning you don't have to open up the rest of the tool to get at them) main blade and scissors. In actual use, that's a huge convenience.

Based on the published dimensions, that Shine Hai is quite a bit bulkier than the Wingman.

Finally, it's been my experience that the blade selection (and quality) on cheaper Chinese multitools is oriented more towards upping the tool count than actual utility. Three of the tools on the Shine Hai are knife blades. One of them they're trying to pass off as a "wood saw", but that is most certainly not a saw; it's a serrated blade. No one needs three knife blades on a mulltitool. Not at the expense of other useful tools, like the Wingman's outstanding scissors. (Which, IMHO are actually better than those that come on the much more expensive Leatherman Wave. And I should know, I own both of those models).

Plus they're counting the blade lock mechanism itself as one of the fourteen tools. Which is just ridiculous.

The Wingman also comes with a vastly underrated tool you don't often see; a reverse swept package opener that is superb for safely slicing open that infernal clear plastic clamshell retail packaging that you see everywhere these days.

How good is the Wingman compared to a highly rated, generic multi tool (like this one on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XG7K...DAbP0W7TE4, that goes for $10 less and has 4.5 stars and an "A" rating in FakeSpot?)

I like Leathermans and have several fancier ones. But am wondering how Leatherman's bottom of the barrel compares to the "other guys."

Excellent multitool. Paid this price for it several years ago and haven't seen it come down in price in a long time.

Are you sure you can get free shipping?
It's giving me an error at checkout when I go from Step 1 (Product Destination) to Step 2 (Shipping Options). It says "Due to shipping restrictions, one or more items aren't available for delivery in your area. Please enter a new shipping address."

There's probably a law in NY that prevents Lowes from shipping this without validating I'm an adult? The item says "Due to an age restriction, you must be at least 18 to pick up this item in store. Please be prepared to show proper photo ID upon pickup."

Wingman has the spring pliers, solid build quality and the warranty is great. $25 wingman is a great value because it's going to last but if you happen to lose it, it won't break your heart like a WAVE.

I got same error. Guess they don't want under 18 to be able to order knives for delivery. Maybe no chainsaws too to prevent a massacre.

I got these the last time they went on sale for about this price, which was a long time ago. Don't hesitate. I carry mine every day, you'd be surprised how often you use the pliers and knife. Also, a few months in, I broke the very tip of the needle nose off using it as a pry bar. I just brought it in to somewhere that sells Leatherman's and they did a warranty exchange right there on the spot

There's only two issues I have with the Wingman:
1. the wire cutters don't cut wires (they're pretty useless)
2. the build quality isn't as good as the Wave (you can move the sides against each other, confirmed on mine; you can see what this is in the video below)

But, it's still a good deal. I'll probably grab one to keep around. Best price I've found was for $30 some time late last year at Dick's.

Thanks, I have been using the Skelatool as my EDC for the past 3 years but there are times I need a little more. I was able to get free parcel shipping.
I've bought cheap Chinese, Gerber and S.O.G. multitools and I always seem to come back to a Leatherman. My all time favorite was the USA made Schrade Tough Tool. I carried that for 10 plus years and still use it quite regularly. It had great tool placement, everything could be used without opening the tool and it was very comfortable. You can buy Chinese made ones now for $15 or so but they are junk.
