Pretty good deal if you don't need state. If you do need state seems better to use the back out offer deal which works out to about the same and you don't have to deal with a newegg giftcard.

Good deal if you have any newest GC for rolling. If you need to file state return at a cost higher than $15 and has the AmexOffer on H&R, then the other deal would be cheaper.

The coupon code works on other versions as well. For example:

H&R BLOCK Tax Software Premium 2017 (WIN)

-- $54.99 - $16.50 coupon code (EMCPRPS44) = $38.49 ... and then depending how you value ... - $15 NE gift card = $23.49

H&R BLOCK Tax Software Premium & Business 2017 (WIN)
-- $69.99 - $21.00 coupon code (EMCPRPS44) = $48.99 ... and then depending how you value ... - $15 NE gift card = $33.99

yep, seems like the best bang for the GC would be with the cheaper packages

I used the back-out offer (Deluxe + Efile + State) to file yesterday and was quite annoyed to find out State was "included" but they still wanted another $9.95 at the end to e-file it. I was pretty annoyed and ended up filing state on my State's e-file portal. Since when does + State not include actually e-filing the state like 99% of people would want to do? grrr

5 e files? So I can use this for 5 years? What if tax laws change?

No, it's year specific. I think it means you can eFile 5 times for 2017's taxes and, I'm assuming here, that means amended returns, filing separate, etc. Not sure if it means others in your household (kids who work for example) could also do their taxes (2017) and file on this or not.

I used this software last night (first time - always used Taxact in the past) and it was pretty straight forward. Got the refund I expected (unlike the free junk Credit Karma online tax that I tried earlier).
