Got this TV for this price during Black Friday. It was the lowest price by a good amount. Happy with the purchase, and I'd say it's worth it, but I don't really know that I see much difference between this and a higher end 1080. (I have 2 older plasmas in addition to this, both 1080p).

Note that my needs are simple: this is our bedroom TV, so mostly watching Netflix and CrunchRoll. Some sporting events (cycling).

Viewing angles are a definite weakness.

The wall says this TV does 4K @ 60Hz. Look at the input section. And if it were 30Hz the input lag would be 33ms or more, not 15ms.

Most resolutions are supported. 4k @ 60 Hz is only supported when the HDMI input used is set to HDMI 2.0 in the TV's settings. 4:4:4 color is displayed properly in all picture modes.

And if you are joined to that popular cash back website that rhymes with fleabates, Rakuten is at 10%.

Nice deal with $30 rebate from the site that is also owned by Rakuten itself.
Total $270. Can't beat that.

You probably won't see much difference if you are watching 1080p content still. Most people are buying 4K and watching lower content won't see much of an upgrade

Suggest diverting all power to shields now (or easier ignore quoted comment notifications).

The 4k crowd 9000+% believes there is a difference even if each pixle is doubled/tripled/etc. I don't care personally. 4k streaming will force me to buy a unlimited gig internet plan and i don't use blurays.

What's personally more important to me is the quality of the picture, viewing angles, and the most important is smoothness/fluidity. These cheap 4k tv's are all 120hz but that's an effective rate and the panel is 60hz. Than if you do go to 4k the refresh rate is 30hz. Trying to point this out to anyone on slick deals is like talking to a wall so I will stop here.

This TCL is a decent TV. I have it hooked up my PS4 Pro and X1X for the time being and it's worked out great.

With that said viewing angles are average, there's some clouding visible on grey screens and backlight uniformity is just average. There's also a little bit of coil whine that I can't unless I have my ear to it.

For the price it's a solid set, with a simple, intuitive interface that supports HDR10 inputs and 4k.

Good info. So does that mean this one will be not good for PS4 pro gaming? Also where do you see the 30hz spec? Thanks.

I had a 1080p Samsung TV and I definitely noticed the HDR in my Xbox games and some Netflix content when I got the TCL. Not sure if I noticed the higher resolution content, but HDR content looks great.
