Decent deal for a Dot. I couldn't make up my mind between the Dot and the Google Mini so I just use them both. They're both really good products.

Depends on what you're looking for and what you'll be connecting. I set up the Mini first and thought it was great, but couldn't connect all of my outlets to it. Kept having issues with outlets not being "available." Then I set up the Echo - all five brands of outlets I have connected and only one gave me any issues. Also seems to be a lot smoother when asked to do something.

Pretty decent deal for an Echo. Better than BF in price, but could get an outlet with it then for $5.

I don't think one is better than the other, but the Google mini seems to be better at search for answers to whatever question you decide to shout at it. I have an echo Dot and it's great for streaming music, turning on lights, and creating shopping lists, but on the rare occasion I ask a question, it's not great at finding answers... although at that point I'd prefer looking up my answer anyways on a phone/tablet...

And the skills list for the echo is huge,.no idea how it is for the Google home.

Also, the normal sized Echo is $77.49...pretty sure that's the best price I've ever seen on a new one.
