Glad to see this is back. Picked one up for my wife to replace her Series 0.

What I like about the series 1, is that Apple still sells this model and probably will have two more Watch OS updates.

Exactly this! It is a good "budget-minded" (for Apple) for an excellent watch for working out and tracking fitness. Both my wife and I will now have the Series 1. Its a huge improvement over the original.

Pardon my idiocy, but, what is the main bullet-point difference between the 38mm and the 42mm if you don't mind the literal size difference?

I picked up the 42mm last time and I've been happy with it. Being well over a decade since I've worn a watch, I just couldn't justify the series 3 price. While it is noticeably slower than my wife's series 3, I love it. And my inner slickdeals was happy with the price. It's best as an extension of your phone for notifications and a fitness tracker tool.

None. Simply different sizes. Those with smaller wrists may prefer the 38mm, while those with larger wrists may like the larger one.

Generation 4 is coming out and people are dropping $200 on a Series 1? LMAO

Sometimes paying the cheapest price is not the smartest move.

Pay the extra $50-60 and get yourself a Series 2, pay the extra $100 and get a series 3.

Are you keeping the watch for a year and tossing it in the trash? Nope

I assume most people will keep this watch for 2 to 3 years.

If i am keeping a watch for 2-3 years, isn't it worth to pay $30-50 extra EACH YEAR for a FAR superior and faster device.

This is like buying a 3 year old iPhone bc it's on sale when it's only $100 off the newest model.

In fact this price is almost a rip off if anything.
Lol "far superior?" The functionality of the watch is the same across all series. If you need waterproof or cellular, then get the 2 or 3, if not, the 1 will work just as good for quite a bit less. It might not be as fast, but it's a watch, who cares?

Series 3 for battery life and music storage. I did not get the cellular since it's another 10 bucks per month. I would not get the old I watch
