Sold by a third party seller.. may want to look at their recent reviews.

I think this is a refurb. but does not mention anywhere on product. Some customers mentioned that they send out reburb or open product as new.

I suppose the price is worth the risk if you have a safe guard. seems many are happy with the seller and some not. I personally would buy with my chase sapphire card knowing I have 100% protection in any case plus extended warranty

disappointing to see reviews... most definitely not a new product. Why does Newegg allow this? (when you click buying options, it even states "NEW")

If you scroll all the way down to buying options, it says that this is New.
But color me skeptical... for this price, I find it very hard to believe it's new.

Based on the phone number in their newegg listing, I think it's this company:

If you search this model number on sd, you'll see the other deal that was in Amazon about 3 months ago for a little more. They seemed to suggest they were not getting new units. That was mostly based on some stickers that only new units get. So, seems to be the case for this model around the ~1k spot.

$999 is insane. I bought one for my wife. I got a refurb i5 last November for about the same price, more if you count tax. There is no tax on this, I guess depending where you live.
