I think this is the lowest price I have seen on this. Right now it is $61.90 and there is a $15 coupon which you can apply. Price should come out to $46.90 before tax.

Hmm... The 7200 takes 8hrs for 50mins vs the 7100 that takes 1hr for 50mins.

Typo?

The 7200 isn't on Norelco's site. Discontinued?

pretty sure this is not the 7200. The 7200 has a vacuum.

That is true, I have one of those as well, the beard trimmer. For some reason, they used the same number for one of the groomers but it is not available. I contacted Philips/Norelco to see. They said that the BG2040 is the better/newest and available model.

This the the PDF regarding the 7200 groomer and it did not look all that impressive with a 8hr charge time.

8 hr charge time for 50min of runtime?! That's nuts. No device should take longer to charge than to use. The amazon page says 1hr charge though, which is also confirmed by some of the reviews/q&a's. So maybe the pdf is a typo?

The model number is indeed confusing. Of all the numbers available, the marketing team had to use the same one.

No kidding, that's worthless. Norelco said that the 7200 BG2039/42 w/ the 8hr charge is not even available anymore and that charge time must be part of the reason but they did not claim that it was a typo. I assume that the sale on them was because they are the old discontinued models.

Norelco told me that the 7100 was revised from the older ones and I guess the higher "7200" number actually does not imply that it is any better. BG2040/49 > BG2039/42, ignore the 7100 and 7200 stuff. I ordered a new BG2040 because my old BG2040's battery was toast after ~7 years.

My battery also died after 4 years but I was able to replace them with some new norelcos I bought from costco. Not a very easy install but doable. Dont need a solder or anything, can just stuff the new batteries in and it works pretty well.
