true, but I have never had a problem with the rebates, ever. as for the platinum efficiency this gets very close and you cannot find a gold rated psu out there at this price with the efficiency it has and a 10 year warranty

Waiting for this PSU to hit $85 AR like a few months ago again before pulling the trigger.

FYI this PSU only comes with 3 PCI-E cables while EVGA's 850W PSUs come with 4 and their cables are nicer too!

I'm running 4 GTX 1070 FEs on them including the whole system if that helps.

point taken, but the reason for the difference in cables is that this unit has inline caps to have a very tight voltage on all the rails, ripple suppression is superb. also to note, i do like EVGA but at this price point, you cannot get a gold rated EVGA PSU and the next best EVGA is the EVGA 850w Bronze BQ which has one more PCI-E cable and half the warranty at 5 years, along with a less stellar review and bronze rated efficiency. This has 3 PCI-E cables with 6 pci-e connectors, your running more then three gpus with dual connectors?

Agree, I like the 850w G3 personally. With either PSU you can run more cards on the rails but you have to be very aware of power capabilities, requirements, software-implemented power limits, and failure scenarios. That's what you're paying for with beefier power supplies ... they've taken the guesswork out of sizing for various loads. Seems that ~$50/card is the average for PSes right now. That assumes 2x8-pin or similar, e.g. 1080 Ti.

EVGA 850W G3s were on sale for $80 AR so they were cheaper than these Seasonics and with more pcie cables they can handle more GPUs out of the box. EVGA pcie cables also have capacitors on them and have great johny guru's rating as well. Yes I need 8 8-pin pci-e connectors otherwise I wouldn't need any psu of this wattage ^^

Yeah I have a killawatt to measure power draw at the wall and always keep my system total load no more than 80% of psu capacity. About psu deals, evga 1000W G2 and G3 were $100 and $110 no rebate during last BF so it could be much cheaper $ power / gpu if you got a good deal. IMO Seasonic and EVGA are both great, if they were at similar price, I will just go with the one that offers more extra Smilie
