I've already got one installed, and just ordered another one. It's not awkward, it's smart, with all the people dying from the Flu right now.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of hand sanitizer

Pretty sure any virus that got in there would die...after all, it is hand sanitizer.

Somehow I think it would be odd to have this for home use.

One by the back door and one in the garage entry laundry area. Pretty useful.

Pretty sure they made it so you have to buy their refil packs. But could just drill a hole at the top and refil it yourself.

The Amazon questions/reviews state that you need to buy refills...

No you can not refill the bottle. You have to put a new bottle on each time. The bottle is recyclable and it is for your protection to put a new bottle in every time there is one that is empty. You can easily remove the bottles by squeezing the side buttons at the base of the dispenser.

Thanks all. Guess I'll pass. I would hate to get refill packs. We buy the large soap containers at Costco and refill our manual soap dispensers.

I carry small containers of Purell in my car for cleaning hands sometimes. That said. This is an ethanol base hand sanitizer. Somewhat unnecessary for the average home. Soap and water works and is not flammable like alcohol. For cleaning my filthy farm or greasy hands I would opt for a milder nonflammable GoJo product that won't dry out my skin. This may be good for those without easy access to water to clean hands.

As for refills, I think just pour from another container such as a large Purell economy jug (if there is such a thing) into the empty bottle.
